Botanical drawing of Jewelweed. This plant can be found all over the damper Pennsylvania forests. I have the yellow version growing in my back yard. I always enjoy popping the seed pods and watching the seeds fly. This plant will grow near what it heals: Poison Ivy, Oak and Sumac. Crush it up and rub it on the affect area or make into a salve. Mother nature usually provides the cure right next to the poison. This is no exception.
Botanical drawing of Purple Dead Nettle. Found mostly in the spring time, this member of the mint family is a medicinal herb growing in most yards.
Botanical drawing of Mullien. Mullein is a very large plant, with soft, fuzzy leaves. This medicinal plant blooms its second year. It gets very tall, so it can't be missed. This plant can be smoked, made into a tea, or tinctured. The flower is used in teas and as an ear ache remedy, and the rest of the plant is used for various lung issues.
